The 2014–2016 West African Ebola crisis was contained by combining biomedical interventions with social science intelligence, an approach that may hold the key to managing the current COVID-19 pandemic and future outbreaks.
We invite you to join us at a virtual event hosted by UKCDR: Research enablers for impact – accelerating the impact of the UK’s investment in international development research on the 29th September 2020. This lunchtime dialogue will lead a strategic discussion on how to enable, accelerate and evaluate impact of the UK’s investment in international development research.
The event will also launch 11 high level impact success stories compiled through a unique collaborative effort by UK research funders including FCDO (Formerly DFID), UKRI, BEIS, DHSC and Wellcome, showcasing the critical role which research plays in addressing the challenges faced by developing countries, and the UK’s contribution to achieving that impact.
