As the Communications Manager for UKCDR, Tania is responsible for delivering strategic communications to share work by UKCDR, members’ organisations and key stakeholders. She joined in October 2016 and her areas of expertise are in communication and media strategies, project management and research uptake.
Tania has several years of experience working on communications and media projects in the international development sector. Tania has a MSc in Globalisation and Development from SOAS. After the degree she worked as a photo-journalist in Kolkata for The Telegraph India. Tania’s interest in communicating research and developing capacity with journalists to report on development issues led her to work for Panos London’s Relay project and later at One World Media. Tania worked with up and coming journalists to cover development issues and produce innovative media on a variety of issues such as climate change to access mental health treatment. Prior to this, she worked on a maternal and newborn health evaluation at LSHTM.
